Following an overwhelming response to our post last night, which has attracted attention across the country and from several media outlets, the club is delighted to announce that SB Tippers of Great Harwood have kindly offered to pay the cost of renting a 3g pitch for one our forthcoming fixtures.
We felt, as a club that the right thing to do by our opponents, is to ensure that the Isle Of Man fixture gets hosted. This will be done at the MPM Stadium, Ilkley, to avoid excessive wasted travel costs by our opponents as they look to play Friday and Saturday in East Lancashire/West Yorkshire.
Whilst we are disappointed that we couldn't host Isle of Man and its wonderful supporters at the Nori, we are pleased to ensure that this fixture does go ahead, albeit "away" from home.
Everybody involved in the Club would like yo thank Garry Bolton and SB Tippers for their unwavering support throughout the season.
For those unaware, Garry is the father of midfielder Ryan Bolton. Earlier in the season, Ryan cancelled his flight and flew the day after to join his family on holiday, to ensure that he could score the winner in our FA Cup Tie v Glossop, the support shown by Ryan and his family shows what this club means to many of us.
This unexpected gesture from SB Tippers helps not only guarantee that the fixture gets played, but played without an expense that would cause further costs on a club that has had limited income throughout the past few months.
The details for the fixture are:
Colne v Isle Of Man
Friday 12th April
8pm Kick Off
MPM Stadium, Home of Ilkley Football Club.
We appreciate that for some home supporters it may make it difficult to make the fixture and we encourage supporters to car share and help our season ticket holders get to this fixture.
The decision to play circa 20miles away from Holt House was a difficult one to make, however we felt it was a necessary step to ensure we fulfil the fixture.
Once again, everybody at the club would like to express their sincere gratitude to SB Tippers for their generosity.
