COLNE F.C. MOURNS THE PASSING OF HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN

Colne Football Club joins the country in mourning the death of Her Majesty The Queen.

Queen Elizabeth II - who celebrated her Platinum Jubilee earlier this year, sadly passed away this afternoon at Balmoral, aged 96.

Born on April 21, 1926, Queen Elizabeth II ascended the throne upon the death of her father, King George VI, on Feb. 6, 1952.

In 2015, she became the longest-serving British monarch in history, exceeding even the reign of her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria, who sat on the throne for 63 years and seven months.

The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the Club go out to the Royal Family and Her Majesty’s loved ones at this time.
