Colne Appoint Macken!

Colne Football Club are delighted to announce Jon Macken as the Club’s new Head Coach, replacing Nathan Rooney who resigned Tuesday.


The former Preston North End and Manchester City striker has agreed contract with the club until the end of the 2023 season and will be in attendance as we entertain Kendal Town this coming Saturday.


Jon said “I’m delighted to have this opportunity with such a progressive club. Having met the Chairman and Board representatives, it’s clear everything is in place to be successful.


I have been at the club before as an opposition manager and I had a great feel for the place, and especially the fans who are fantastic.”


Macken, a UEFA A Licence coach who previously managed Radcliffe to promotion from this league in the 2018/19 season is set to be introduced to the players tonight at training before taking charge on New Years Day.


Chairman Ryan Haigh added “Jon was our number one target and to get it done so quickly is great for the club and the fanbase. Having spoken to Jon, we are confident he can build on the foundations already within the club and we are now looking forward to an new era at the Football Club.


An announcement on Jon’s backroom staff will be made in due course.
