Colne Football Club have reluctantly accepted an undisclosed offer from Matlock Town FC for striker Reece Webb-Foster.

The 23 year old enjoyed a productive return last season prior to the league curtailment and that has continued despite the Reds struggles with 16 goals so far this campaign.

Chairman Ryan Haigh said “we received several offers for Reece and although I reiterated our desire for him to stay at the football club the opportunity to progress with a team challenging for promotion to Step 2 was something Reece wanted to explore and further test himself as a player. I’m disappointed to see Reece leave the football club but these things happen in football. Players want to progress and clubs will always be on the lookout for strikers who can return stats like Reece has over the last 18 months”.

Everyone associated with Colne wishes Reece well and he will always be welcome back at Harrison Drive.
