The ambitious Reds have added quality pedigree to their ranks with the capture of former Fleetwood Development Player, Jamie Cooke. The box to box midfielder becomes the first new arrival at Harrison Drive this summer as Head Coach, Nathan Rooney commences his squad strengthening for the 2020/21 season. Undoubtedly Cooke, who has spent the last 4 years at Fleetwood since joining as a 14 year old, could have had his pick of clubs but chose Colne as the perfect fit for the next stage of his development. Rooney commented “I’m delighted to have Jamie on board. He has everything in his locker as a midfielder; strength, aggression, assists and importantly goals.” “No doubt Jamie will play at a higher level in time. He could have gone anywhere, but he trusts my vision and that of the Football Club” Chairman Ryan Haigh added “Jamie was one of Nathan’s major targets this season, so to get him in quickly is a big boost to our planning. We’ve been missing this kind of player since Alex left for Stockport and I believe the fans will love his competitive nature” Cooke is the second signing in as many days, as the Red Revolution now starts to gather momentum.
