Colne walking football club came into being in its present form on the 2nd may 2017 at a meeting held at the crown hotel, Colne.
The club was founded from walking football sessions held at Primet College, Colne. Founder members were:
Mark Bottomley, Roger Lister, Rob King, Adrian Lamb, Simon Woodvine and John Mccollum.
The club had previously competed in tournaments with mixed results.
Manchester tournament reaching the semi-final losing 1-0 to eventual winners Manchester city.
World cup tournament held at the john Charles centre in Leeds reaching the quarter final stage
Fleetwood town tournament again reaching the quarter finals.
These were all before the official club was formed.
26th July 2017 Colne entered the Wythenshawe games tournament losing in the semi final to eventual winners Sheffield vipers on penalties after a 2-2 draw which put Colne into third place play off against Salford WFC which Colne won 3-2.
On 5th august 2017 Colne entered Fleetwood town tournament competing against four other teams.
In their final match beating Blackpool 3-2 to stop them winning the trophy Colne finished in 4th place.
On 30th September 2017 Colne organised a 4 team mini league competition which was held at the prairie in Burnley.
The teams entered were Leeds Titans, Man Com and Clitheroe, the tournament was won by Leeds Titans.
Colne managed to draw three games and finished in last place.
They train every Thursday at Primet college Colne 6-7 pm new players always welcome no age restriction.
